Excerpt

Slowly, I pulled the curtain open a little, peeking over the edge. Gwen stood with her back to me in front of a floor length mirror, unbuttoning her blouse, slowly revealing a lacy pink bra underneath. I was distracted by the graceful curve of her breasts when she caught me staring, turning around suddenly.

“What are you doing?” she hissed. Gwen leaped forward and I instinctively backed up.
She pulled the curtain aside, checking to make sure no one else was in the back area, and then grabbed my arm and pulled me into the dressing room with her.

The dressing room was surprisingly spacious for such a tiny boutique, there was enough room for both of us to stand in there comfortably, the corner taken up by a chair where most of the clothes Gwen intended to try on were piled.

Gwen yanked the curtain close and then turned to face me, her hands on her hips. Her half unbuttoned top dipped forward, giving me a full view of her chest. “Well?”

“I uh, I just saw you in the store and—”

“And you thought you’d come back here and peep on me?”

“Well, no. I—” I shook my head, feeling the burn of embarrassment on my cheeks. “You didn’t seem to recognize me. I—I just wanted to say hi.”

Gwen shook her head and folded her arms across her chest. “All right, you’ve said hi. Now go.”

I looked at her, wanting to say something, but unable to bring myself to ask any of the questions swirling in my head.

“Well?”

“I just, I’m wondering why I haven’t heard from you, since—since that night.”

Gwen laughed, throwing her head back so her hair shimmered down her back. “Oh sweetie. That was a one night deal. You know that.”

I frowned. “Yes, but, well. I don’t know. I felt something—special.”

She smirked. “That’s sweet. It really is. By my husband and I have a very specific agreement—and it’s the same thing you agreed to as well. He picks the women and I sleep with them once.” She held up one finger. “Once. Then I never have contact with them again.”

“And you always follow that rule?”

She nodded. “No matter what. Not even if I want to break it.”

“So, you’ve wanted to break it?”

She shrugged, appearing as if she was bored with our conversation.

“And why don’t you?”

She looked up at me, her brown eyes locked on mine. “It keeps things from getting complicated. I don’t need drama in my life.”

“You wouldn’t even break the status quo for someone special? Even if she could convince you?”

“And how would she convince me?” Gwen’s eyebrow arched as if she was truly curious.

I didn’t know what else to say, what I could do to convince her. I stared at her for a moment and then launched myself at her, pressing my body against hers until she was pinned against the wall, our mouths meeting instantly.
